01Agreement and scope
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Papr Tools websites, browser PDF Tools, iPhone software, official-source directory, resources, and any Papr Supplies experience that links to these Terms (collectively, the “Services”). By using a Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Additional terms presented for a particular feature, app store, product, order, or promotion also apply. If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the more specific terms control for that feature or transaction.
02Eligibility and authority
You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, use the Services only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian. The Services are not directed to children under 13.
If you use Papr Tools for an organization or another person, you represent that you have authority to act for them and to access, edit, sign, store, print, export, or share the documents involved.
03Limited right to use the Services
Subject to these Terms, Papr Tools grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Services for lawful purposes. This is a license, not a sale of the Services or their software, branding, content, or intellectual property.
You may not copy, sell, sublicense, lease, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, bypass technical controls, or create derivative works from the Services except where applicable law expressly permits an activity that cannot be restricted by contract.
04Your documents and responsibilities
You retain your rights in documents you lawfully control. You are responsible for:
- having permission to access and process each document;
- reviewing every page, answer, attachment, signature, and export;
- keeping independent backups of important files;
- protecting devices, browser profiles, credentials, and export destinations;
- confirming deadlines, fees, form editions, submission methods, and recipient requirements; and
- complying with laws and duties that apply to the document.
Papr Tools does not take custody of a filing, monitor a deadline, or confirm that a recipient received or accepted a document.
05Government sources and non-affiliation
Papr Tools is not a government agency and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by an agency listed in the directory. Directory links open external government websites. Those agencies control their forms, eligibility rules, instructions, fees, deadlines, filing locations, accessibility, security, and availability.
Directory inclusion is a navigation aid, not a recommendation or guarantee. Confirm the current form edition and instructions with the issuing agency. The Official Source Policy explains how links are selected and presented.
06No professional advice or representation
Papr Tools provides software utilities, links, and general educational information. It does not provide legal, tax, immigration, benefits, medical, financial, employment, insurance, or other professional advice. Use of Papr Tools does not create an attorney-client, accountant-client, doctor-patient, fiduciary, representative, or agency relationship.
You are responsible for deciding whether to seek advice from a qualified professional and for independently evaluating any document or instruction before relying on it.
07Electronic signatures and records
Papr Tools can help place a drawn signature image or other mark into a PDF. Papr Tools does not authenticate a signer, witness a signature, provide a certificate authority, establish intent, verify signing capacity, preserve an audit trail, or determine whether a signature satisfies a particular law or recipient requirement.
Some documents cannot be signed electronically or require a specific signing platform, identity check, witness, notarization, original, or delivery method. Confirm acceptance with the recipient before relying on a signature created with Papr Tools.
08Browser processing, storage, and export
The current browser PDF Tools workflow processes selected PDF contents in the browser session and does not require a Papr Tools document-processing server. Optional browser storage uses IndexedDB only after you choose the save action. Browser memory and storage can be cleared, corrupted, unavailable, or accessible to others using the same device or profile.
Printing, downloading, sharing, or following a link transfers information to the destination you choose. Review the destination and its privacy and security practices before proceeding.
09Acceptable use
You may not use the Services to:
- violate law, court order, contract, fiduciary duty, privacy right, publicity right, or intellectual-property right;
- impersonate a person or agency, misrepresent identity or authority, forge a signature, or submit false information;
- access, alter, disclose, or distribute another person’s documents without authorization;
- upload, transmit, or distribute malware or harmful code;
- probe, scan, disrupt, overload, circumvent, or interfere with security or operation;
- automatically scrape or extract content in a manner that burdens the Services or violates third-party terms;
- use Papr Tools to make unlawful eligibility, employment, housing, credit, insurance, medical, or other high-impact decisions; or
- help another person do any of the above.
10Papr Tools intellectual property
The Services, software, interface, text, artwork, app icon, Papr Tools name, and related branding are owned by Papr Tools or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Services, no right or license is granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.
If you provide feedback, you grant Papr Tools a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation, provided the feedback does not include private document contents or third-party confidential information.
11Third-party services
Apple, government agencies, hosting providers, Shopify, payment providers, carriers, fulfillment providers, support tools, and export destinations are independent services. Their terms and policies govern their surfaces. Papr Tools does not control and is not responsible for their content, decisions, availability, security, accessibility, or data practices.
A link or technical integration does not mean Papr Tools endorses a third party or that the third party endorses Papr Tools.
12Commerce and physical products
Papr Supplies is not currently accepting orders through this site. If purchasing is enabled, product descriptions, price, taxes, availability, payment terms, shipping terms, return rules, warranty information, and any order-specific conditions shown at checkout become part of the transaction terms.
No order exists until the enabled commerce provider confirms acceptance. Papr Tools may reject or cancel an order where permitted, including for pricing errors, suspected fraud, inventory problems, shipping restrictions, or legal compliance.
13Changes and availability
Services may change, be updated, limited, suspended, or discontinued. Papr Tools does not promise uninterrupted availability, preservation of browser-stored files, compatibility with every device or PDF, detection of every form field, or acceptance by a particular recipient.
Preview, concept, beta, or pre-release features may be incomplete and may change without notice. Papr Tools 1 is a product concept and is not offered for sale unless a future page expressly states otherwise.
14Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. Papr Tools may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users or the Services, comply with law, address security risk, investigate misuse, or enforce these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms—survive termination.
15Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” Papr Tools disclaims express, implied, and statutory warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and results.
Papr Tools does not warrant that a document is complete, accurate, legally effective, secure in every environment, accepted by a recipient, submitted on time, or compatible with every PDF reader or device. Rights and warranties that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected.
16Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Papr Tools and its operators, affiliates, licensors, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed deadlines, rejected filings, lost revenue, lost profits, business interruption, or substitute services arising from or related to the Services.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, total liability for all claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid Papr Tools for the applicable Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limits, so they apply only to the extent lawful.
17Responsibility for misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the Services, documents you process without authorization, material you submit that infringes another person’s rights, or a material violation of these Terms. This provision does not require a consumer to indemnify Papr Tools for Papr Tools' own unlawful conduct.
18Applicable law and disputes
Applicable law, mandatory consumer protections, and courts with lawful jurisdiction govern disputes. These Terms do not waive rights that cannot be waived by contract. Papr Tools does not publish an arbitration clause or class-action waiver through the current Terms.
Before filing a claim, the parties should make a reasonable good-faith effort to describe the issue and seek an informal resolution, unless immediate action is necessary or law preserves another procedure.
19General terms
These Terms and applicable feature- or transaction-specific terms form the agreement concerning the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions remain effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without Papr Tools' consent; Papr Tools may assign them in connection with a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of the relevant business, subject to applicable law.
Headings are for convenience only. “Including” means “including without limitation.” Electronic notices and records may be used where lawful.
20Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated when the Services, providers, business, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will receive appropriate notice where required. Continued use after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance except where law requires another form of consent.
21Contact
Questions about these Terms should use the current method published on the Contact page. Do not include private document contents or sensitive identifiers in an initial inquiry.
